I work in synergy with Center participants on the impact of healthy foods on immune response and quality of life. Inflammation initiated by pathogens or cancer is improved with a healthy diet. An elderly population or poor lifestyle results in many individuals with cancer, arthritis, obesity and atherosclerosis. I am actively working to understand the effect of healthy foods in the genetic and molecular mechanisms of inflammatory-mediated disease. My findings provide novel therapeutic approaches for treatment and prevention of numerous diseases.
