I am a professor of molecular epidemiology who has been working in food safety issues as related to swine and public health. The main emphasis of my research has been antimicrobial resistance. Further, I lead global capacity building initiatives that involve food security, food safety and other associated academic capacity in Africa and Brazil. I will contribute in research, education and outreach aspects of global food systems and food safety activities.
