The FIC's mission is to ensure a safe access of food to everyone. My current research is to investigate ecosystem services provided by urban wetlands in terms of reductions in foodborne and waterborne pathogens, illustrating an sustainable manner to reduce the potential risks posed by the pathogens to urban residents. In addition, I can contribute to the mission of FIC by applying my research tools to help monitor, track, and analyze communities of foodborne pathogens from their sources.
