My research interests include microbial safety of foods with a special focus on fresh fruits and vegetables. I investigate transmission and dissemination routes, and interventions to prevent and reduce risks of contamination of fresh produce and other foods with human pathogens within the food systems approach. I use formal knowledge translation to move research knowledge into practice. My research will provide novel food safety interventions to control and eliminate foodborne pathogens and innovative approaches of knowledge transfer targeting food producers, handlers and consumer.
