I have been at OSU for 55 years and have specialized in meat science and international education so I have trained many international students and post-doctoral researchers in food science and therefore have a lot of contacts around the world in Universities and the food industry. I think this would be very valuable to this new initiative.

News March 2011: Ockerman is elected a Fellow of the Institute of Food Technologists, the honorary society of food science. Herbert Ockerman, a founding member of the Food Innovation Center, is a 2010 recipient of the Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award from Ohio State. Read more
