I am a graduate student in the Food Animal Health Research Program at OARDC, Wooster. My current research is focused on the survival of Escherichia coli O157 and Salmonella species in the environment. My career goal is to improve pre-harvest food safety in the Caribbean and Latin America. Improving the microbial safety of agriculture produce in the Caribbean will increase food safety and security. Such interventions will contribute significantly to the improvement of standards of living and nutrition to large segments of the population.
