Obesity is a growing concern worldwide. It also contributes to a number of life-threatening diseases. Little is known about the role of vitamin A in obesity. My goal is to find the underlying mechanisms of how vitamin A metabolites, such as retinoic acid or retinaldehyde is involved in the pathogenesis of visceral obesity. Knowing the mechanism will aid in formulating novel therapies aimed at treating obesity.
