FIC Member Jill Clark to Help Alleviate Food Deserts

FIC member Jill Clark and her team were recently awarded $3.96 million for her project titled "Building Local Government Capacity to Alleviate Food Deserts" to improve food security for farmers and consumers living in food deserts throughout the United States. 

Clark and her team will be investigating ways in which government policies help or hinder local access to food and the ability for producers to provide food. The project also includes providing technical assistance to rural and urban communities on ways to participate in the policies which shape the food system.
